Still need GTIN after GTIN exemption approved.

I am currently in the process of adding products under my own brand in the Office Supply category. However, I encountered an issue during the product addition as the system prompted me for an External Product ID, which I do not possess. As such, I applied for a GTIN Exemption , and the request was approved on January 19.

Despite the approval, the system continues to request GTIN information during adding product process. When I tick "I don't have a Product ID", the system still prompts "A GTIN exemption is required". So I am stuck in here.

Here are a few relevant details:

  • GTIN Exemption Case #: 14649883291
  • Catalog Authorization Case #: 14642888891
  • I am the owner of the brand

Your assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

More that likely you were approved by a Bot to make you feel good. Now Amazon human will want to make sure your Brand really exists in the real world, and you do have the GS1 UPC's on your products that are registered in your brand name.

Doesn't sound like you are selling one-of-a-kind hand made items which are the products that the exemption was designed for. Looks like you are trying to sell mainstreamed office products.

Usually this is a three-step process, 1. Brand approval, 2. Category approval, and 3. Product approval. Each is dome by a different Amazon team just to make real sure everything is done right. Sellers wanting to skip this process with their product do not have much a chance of getting the exemption.

Hello! Two weeks ago, I faced a problem while uploading my product, but I was able to solve it. Here are the steps I followed: 1. I switched to uploading my product via a template. 2. I noticed several '+' signs on the top above the first row. These signs indicate hidden columns. 3. Then, I found the first '+' sign on top of 'column J' in the newest template and clicked on it. 4. I found a 'column I' called "Is exempt from supplier-declared external product identifier," which is a yes or no question. 5. I chose 'yes' and filled out all the required columns. 6. After completing all the steps needed to upload, I got no error in the GTIN issue. However, I encountered other problems, which I fixed as reminded in the template and resubmitted until it was done successfully. 7. Finally, I checked the list and filled in the additional information required in my product management board to finish the process of adding products. Although it may seem tedious, these steps worked for me, and I hope they are helpful to you as well.
