Sold item to Saudi Arabia, no VAT?

FBA seller on UK. Store our products in UK.

Sold an item to a customer, delivered to Saudi Arabia, the invoice showed the customer was not charged any VAT. Is that correct?

Is there a list of countries that do no charge VAT available?

Currently on flat rate fee, but am i correct i am losing money on this sale? (would i also be losing money if i was on normal VAT scheme?)

If you are on flat rate you’ll loose on every non UK sale as UK vat is removed from all non UK sales
You either need to move to standard rate or stop selling outside uk
Speak with your accountant first though and ask them to go through your sales to see which is the best option for you

Your accountant will tell you that Flat Rate is (probably) not an appropriate VAT scheme for companies that export. Any sales you make outside of the UK will be export sales and have UK VAT removed, however (as your accountant will tell you) when on Flat Rate, you pay VAT on your gross total turnover regardless of whether VAT was charged or not.

You should disable all export sales and EFN if you don’t want to be hit with this, but you’ll still lose on any orders to Jersey which cannot be disabled for FBA.
