Capacity Limits reduced by 80%
Amazon have reduced our FBA capacity limits on standard size by 80% from Oct > Nov. They have then had the audacity to email us and inform us that we have insufficient inventory to cover our Black Friday promotional forecast. Well yes, because you have butchered our capacity limits and therefore we can't create shipments to replenish our stock.
Our sell-through is >8.2 in the last 90 days. We have 1 listing which fits into standard sizer and it has a BSR <50, best-seller in category and sells 200 units/d. By all performance metrics, this product is outstanding. The only reason we don't sell more is because the FCs take an eternity to unpack inbound FBA shipments.
By reading into this forum it would seem many other sellers have also had their capacity limits reduced, right before BFCM, the biggest sales period of the year. It's almost as if Amazon have purposefully done this so that they can charge ludicrous overage fees and milk the living daylight out of sellers by way of storage fees.
Is there any way around this? Our November storage limit is currently around 7DOS. We have a case open and the template response was to consider removing stock or selling through to free up storage space (if you don't laugh you'll cry). We do have SFP as a backup option if FBA runs out, however it's a last resort because of how much fraud Amazon allows customers to get away with. Any and all help appreciated.

i know of no way around it. We had no prior warning but managed to sneak in a shipment which put us over. We are 20% over (should have had 50% available) and have had to try to sell a load of products at a loss to create some space.
What I don't get, there are overage fees of £7.80 per foot, so we'll end up paying maybe £150 to £200 for 2 weeks, but we'll have missed out on thousands of pounds of sales which would have generated a whole lot more than that in fees. I don't want to do SFP just because of the learning and time curve in jumping into something I'm not familiar with.
Overall its just another nail in our Amazon coffin and reason to push our business elsewhere. For me it's the audacity of setting this whole storage capacity thing up, changing it and not offering any sort of explanation or apology.
