Sell electronic products on Amazon
Hi Sellers
I am planning to list few electronic products on Amazon Australia marketplace such as wireless microphone, lavalier microphone, voice amplifier etc.
Do I need to apply for any certification or license for selling wireless microphones or any of the above mentioned products on Amazon ? I have checked the ACMA website and there is no suggestion for any license requirement but not sure if Amazon requires any.
Also, is anyone aware if electrical safety certifications is required for such electronic products.
Tried reaching out to amazon support team but they are unable to answer any of these questions.
Thank you.
Harry

Hi Harry,
Welcome to the Seller Forums!
I've not been able to find a requirement for a license for these items but I don't want to speculate as I don't have specific product information available. I would recommend reviewing the following help page as a starting point for these questions: Electronics.
In addition to information on that help page and related help pages, It is your responsibility to ensure that all electrical products offered for sale on Amazon are safe and meet the relevant Australian standards.
Hopefully some other sellers will pop by with their advice on this topic.
Thanks,
Jessica

Hi Harry,
I'm no expert, but almost every electrical product sold in Australia needs to have RCM applied (looks like a little triangle with a tick and / or number inside it. You have probably seen this a million times without ever even noticing it). This RCM logo certifies that it meets the relevant (usually AS/NZS 4417.1 and 4417.2 at minimum) safety standards, but these standards can also go very deep depending on what product it is. If you are importing them directly you need to set yourself up as a Responsible Supplier and attest to these products being certified accordingly (backed by the relevant certifications themselves).
Do a search for the EESS (Electrical System Safety System) government website for further details. Hope this helps.
Cheers.
