Hidden product categories charging higher referral fees
I recently went to check my shipping report for my VTR rate and saw that some of my products appear to be listed in categories that do not match the category on the product page. I sell car decals, so all my products are are in Auto Accessories›Decals & Bumper Stickers›Decals. That's how they all show up on the product page. However, on the VTR page of my Shipping report, it shows most products correctly in Automotive, but some products are listed in Baby Products and Home. When I click to download the report, it is blank.
Then I check my referral fees and see that some are higher than the others. All the decals in question are the same price, same size, and same weight. Here's an example of two ASINs that have different referral fees:
B078SH96JV - referral fee $1.35
B078SCPBHF - referral fee $1.08
I am pretty sure the difference in referral fees is related to the hidden categories. Any idea how I can find out which of these products are in these hidden categories?

Thanks for posting this inquiry. There are several categories that are factored in to calculate the Referral fees:
- Price
- Delivery charges
- Gift wrapping charges
- Product Category
You can review your fee category by accessing the Manage Inventory page:
- Enter the SKU or ASIN of the product into the Search box.
- Click the value in the Estimated fees per unit sold column.
- Click the info icon next to the Referral fee value to view the fee category of the product.

I have been having the same problem, 2 tickets later, still no answer as to why. Amazon just wants my money.
