Have you updated tracking information on orders that you did not ship right away?
Seller_F6qwMStRhJKiU
I received the same email today and all I can sort out is that, if I print orders late at night that need to ship in the morning, shipstation shows a ship date of that day even though its 9pm or even 11pm but I am clearly not shipping that day. Example, order comes in on 1/21 after regular work hours with a ship by date of 1/22 and as I have always done, I printed the shipping labels on 1/21 in the evening, so that my staff can process the orders in the morning. I set the ship date for the 22nd and the label prints with the ship date of the 22nd on the label but….when researching tonight…it posted the confirmation back to amazon with a ship date of 1/21. Clearly, at 10pm tonight I did not hand off packages to UPS. What another BOT nightmare.

We received the same warning. As someone else noted- whether you use third party or Amazon buy shipping- a label is printed, that essentially confirms the order and charges the customer.
Let's say we ship with USPS. the carrier shows up earlier than expected. We hand off the packages that we have ready. But more orders come in during the afternoon. Do I send my people HOME, so they cannot print and pack more orders?
Aside from late on the day- we stopped years ago requesting packages be scanned at pickup. And we stopped using SCAN forms because 99.9 percent were scanned across a machine that evening.
In addition- Our UPS driver says they ARE NOT ALLOWED to do scan packages as picked up. and USPS does not scan at pickup either.
WHAT WE HAVE SEEN RECENTLY- we've discovered a number of packages, primarily USPS, that are not being scanned at a facility for more than a day. Last week, 1/13-1/17, we had quite a few that show NO TRACKING.
We also have around 130 out of 330 USPS packages that are late delivery since end of december. Some over 20 days. So Our OTR is less than 50%
Weather is probably the culprit, but it is now OUR PROBLEM.
Amazon solution is use their Buy Shipping or, of course, FBA.
I have received 4 emails threatening suspension of FBM orders in the past couple weeks. One today. I have told my employees that we are likely to be cut off from FBM in the next week or so. And that will reduce their hours.
The possible root cause- USPS got buried, possibly due to weather, at the same time they were stretching deliveries on USPS Ground advantage to the max 5 days. And now there are tens of thousands of packages that are sitting in sorting facilities around the country.
So no solution, but a punishment to those that FBM.
Does this make sense?

A few weeks ago we had an unscheduled postal holiday when President Carter passed away. Amazon did not recognize the holiday and would have dinged us if we had waited till next day to ship. So I printed labels with that day's date even though we couldn't ship out till next day. A lot of us did that. I wonder if this is what is causing these emails? I don't know if I got an email or not, I can't get in to that email account when I'm out of town; and I'm out of town. It makes sense for Amazon to not recognize a postal holiday and then ding us for not being magic and having things traveling anyway.

Algorithm's gone wild. Seems to be an increasingly common theme at Amazon lately.
It's funny, if Amazon blows past their delivery date on my Prime orders I get a "sorry, suck it up" email. If I miss a shipping window as a merchant it's hell and damnation.
On the one hand, I understand why they are doing this. Sellers have used this gap in the system to manage performance and then blamed the carrier for the packages not being moved. So Amazon is just ironing out shipping arbitrage so they can see what's really going on.
On the other hand, Amazon needs to get back in their bubble and focus on their business, not mine. Two days of handling time is reasonable for my business. I don't care if Karenzilla wants it delivered by rocket 30 seconds ago... she's not my customer. We've had handling time cut back to 1 day, and sometimes not even that. The Hawaii order below was "late" 8 hours after being placed. SMH. Free shipping = it gets there when it gets there.
Amazon forgets that many of us are based in residential settings. The USPS comes by when they come by. That's just how it works. If my carrier gets bit by a dog, someone will be by tomorrow and I won't have mail today. Sometimes they pick up at Noon, and more often it's between 6pm and 8pm. That's just when I get mail here.
The algorithm is clearly in flux. Friday/Saturday it chokes on the fact that Sunday occurs and UPS/USPS don't work that day. (shame on them). It starts insisting that I ship to Hawaii via Fedex overnight. No, sorry, your free shipping is via USPS Ground Advantage - may luck be on your side. It was doing the same thing on Seattle, and nope, that's not getting a money losing upgrade either. I thought about opening a case with seller support, but then realized I didn't need to shout at a brick wall this week, so I opened a fresh coca-cola instead and kept my sanity.
I've also noticed that the system ignores your shipping settings. I have UPS not running on Saturdays. With the loss of UPS SurePost (or rather it going up 50% which means it's lost to me) my UPS volume is way down. I can't justify an extra $15 to pick up on Saturday alone anyway. I'm going to continue carrying UPS pickups for $10/wk because it comes in handy from time to time.
The root issue here is that Amazon is going to find out that performance of other businesses is not 20 minutes after the order drops, 24/7. The post office moves when they move. I don't do enough orders to mess with it all day. Nor do I want to put my income solely in Amazon's hands. No! Like so many small sellers I ship orders a couple hours each day and then go do something else once I'm caught up with what needs to be done.

Without knowing exactly how you process, we can only assume it could be one of the below things that we have seen other sellers do that they do not think it is a big deal. There are probably a few others but can't think of them off hand.
1. They have a 2 day processing time so they pint the label today, but hold the package for 2 days so that they can save a trip to the post office and process orders they receive today, tomorrow and the third day. Amazon wants goods scanned within 1 day of shipping confirmation, cuz they they start a countdown of how long from ship date to delivery date from you the seller and the buyer. It helps them with overall averages of delivery time for carriers and well as sellers.
2. You print a label and you do not have the product on hand and when you finally receive it you then pick and pack and ship but it has been done so much that Amazon sees that over X percent of your orders show they are shipped late.
