Traffic Reduced by 75% Immediately After Switch to FBA. Why?

I make my own product and have been selling it on Amazon (FBM) for 7 years.

Amazon's "recommendations" box, recently suggested that I could triple sales by converting to FBA. So I did...

And of course, my traffic (screenshot) was immediately on DAY 1 of FBA, cut by 50%.

As the days went by it got lower and lower. I'm now running on about 25% of my normal sales/traffic.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a regular part of the process? Is it temporary? Or did I just ruin 7 years of historically good traffic/sales, by taking Amazon's advice and switching to FBA?

Just as a rule of thumb, when Amazon tries to sell you on an idea -- ignore them.

I have not seen retail numbers for October yet, but I believe something is happening. I have been selling the same stuff for 20+ years. My numbers are steady and dependable. Yet in the last 2-3 weeks, my sales have dropped to now about 50% of what they have ever been. And I am not just talking Amazon....I am also not the only one that has noticed a STEEP drop...

Greetings @Seller_mIs92krSxnwtf,

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns with your conversion to FBA. In general being Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) or Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) will not have a specific impact on your sales traffic. There are many reasons traffic may change but mostly has to do with buyer behavior and trends. However if you provide your most recent Seller Support case I can review to the information to see if I there is anything I can see.

Please note that you can offer both FBA and FBM at the same time using two listings of the same ASIN and not be in violation of Amazon policies. So you can offer both if you so choose. Once you provide your most recent Seller Support case I can review further. Thank you.
