Parcel Not received
Hi
Does anyone know why "parcel not recevied " rate is so higher here?
We post free of charge 2nd class royalMail for all customers not only Amazon Marketplace
but the issue about the parcel probably is 10 times more than anywhere?
Any suggestion or good solution to share please?

Maybe buyers think they can get away with it more as most of the time Amazon tends to side with the buyer despite sending signed with pictures of the customers door. Customers don't realise that Amazon does not eat the item cost but the seller does if the item is sold by the seller.
Unfortunately it is well known throughout the forum many stories of customers stating the item not received, then keeping the item knowing nothing can be done.
You could protect yourself slightly by sending tracked/signature delivery but nothing is guarenteed.

Mostly it is because Amazon remind buyers that a item hasn't been delivered.
If you use 2nd Class Royal Mail and it is a large letter or a parcel then only around 60-70% of items actually have a delivery scan and the order is updated to delivered. For those 30-40% of items that don't have a delivery scan the order is updated as lost or delayed and the buyer is also often emailed to tell them the item is delayed
Dishonest buyers take advantage of the fact the item doesn't have a delivery scan. As a seller you can't prove it is not delivered so you either refund or face an A-Z.
I also would say Royal Mail are just as culpable here, they could do a lot more to improve their delivery scan percentage.

the only thing you can do is upgrade to tracked 48 or equivalent. I know from personal experience the number of claims of lost parcels declined almost immediately.

We used to send everything CRL and when the postie failed to get a delivery confirmation it left us wide open to the scam buyer and fraud merchants as they know Amazon will side with them all the time....So
Charge a postage fee and send everything tracked, since we started doing this our INR's have totally stopped.

Yes, we know why it is. It is because Amazon actively encourage dishonesty ie. theft from customers. We make no bones about saying that as it is true - Amazon always penalise sellers regardless of anything, and so the encouragement is there. Customers that might otherwise be honest are tempted, then it beomes a habit, then it becomes intentional and deliberate, then it becomes a plague. There are even U-tube videos extolling the 'virtues' of this type of theft from Amazon sellers - so everyone knows about it. Amazon consider that free goods for all is a wonderful thing.

basically amazon actively encourages people to make a claim to get their money back even if they have received it.

Scammers, I buy postage thru Amazon, 2nd class Royal Mail small parcel... so they have a deliv confirmation scan...but Amazon doesnt add that to order details as a tracking number so customer thinks there is no tracking. I actually note all the deliv confirmation numbers down so if the buyer does try a scam thinking it was untracked I can actually check. I get them constantly especially around Xmas, in fact 99% of messages are scammers saying not delivered when i can see it WAS. I reply with the delivery details and number.. most scammers dont respond and just go away. One or two respond to make up some wild tale that they somehow forgot theyd received it already. ONE was genuine and had been left in a safe place and no card left, but they foundit from my description of the delivery photo. Thankfully only one went on to open a fake AZ claim and although Amazon refunded they accepted item WAS delivered and did not count it on my ODR (although i had to email the MD to get them to reverse SS decision). I try to make my responses to suspected scammers sound as generic and AI produced as possible just including trcking number, carrier, deliv date and deliv address. I found being chatty just encourages scammers to spin a yarn and try and carry the scam on... had one lady, received order, claimed she hadnt and demanded replacement. I got bored of her and eventually refunded just to make her go away and although she had the original order AND a full refund.. she went berserk screaming I hadnt sent the replacement too LOL

A message from an honest customer today. Just shows that Amazon tell customers items are lost which then leads to a refund claim.
This was sent via untracked letter post so Amazon can not make a decision either way if it is lost or delivered.
Message from customer :
Amazon are saying that this package has been lost, but I have received it. I don't know how to inform them that I have it,
I am more than happy with my purchase.

Ideally, sending the parcel Royal Mail Tracked means that you will have the delivery label and the tracking number at hand to prove delivery. But it means that your On Time Delivery Metric will drop below 97% quite quickly and you will be punished for it.
The least Amazon could do is to display the delivery confirmation number on the order page when their shipping labels are purchased. It shouldn't be that difficult?
I can't decide which service to use. The quicker, more relaible method, or the safer slower service?

Online Shoplifters, your an easy target.
Switch to Royal Mail 48 tracked and get a signature if they buy two or more products.
Report these losses to Royal Mail and tell your customer.
Increase your prices to cover the extra costs.
15 years on Amazon, leaving after Xmas, its getting to expensive.
