Does Shopify FBA integration use available inventory or total invetory?

Can anyone who uses Shopify confirm if their FBA integration uses available inventory or total inventory?

Their help information definitely implies they are using actual inventory available to ship vs the total FBA inventory.

The shopping cart I currently use (Shift4Shop) uses the total inventory which includes reserved and inbound inventory and that leads to sales that can't be shipped. I have tried several times over the years to get them to fix this and the last time they told me they only have access the the total inventory quantity and not the available inventory quantity (not sure why they think this but it is totally false and the information is available via text file and the API their system just doesn't use it or request if for some reason).

Just in case anyone else needs the answer I signed up for a Shopify trial account and connected one sku using the free app provided by Amazon. I can confirm that only the available inventory is being reported and inbound / reserved inventory is not included like it is with my current shopping cart.
