Can't Delete a Listing

I have a listing that I have been trying to delete for a few weeks now. I thought I was losing my mind because I kept seeing it in my inventory after having deleted it.

I tried the standard delete from the inventory page. It was still there. Tried it again. Still there. I uploaded a spreadsheet used to delete the item front and back end. No errors once the upload was processed. STILL THERE! GAH!

It was flagged as a button cell product last year, and I was only able to get the test report but not the certificate for the remote it comes with, so they closed the listing and I recalled my merchandise. In the compliance section of my account, the product is still showing with a status of Rejected under Compliance Status.

I am guessing this is why I can't kill the listing altogether?

I created the listing. No other sellers are on it, nor allowed on it.

I spend soooooooo much time trying to muddle through this kind of thing on here...spent at least an hour last night trying to figure out a variation family glitch.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi @Seller_Sram36TnVt73c,

According to Amazon's Restricted Products FAQ (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GCYAVS22E6CQKV2B), specifically the section "I have moved a restricted product listing to Out of Stock (OOS) status. Is my listing compliant?":

"Moving a listing to OOS does not make the listing compliant. Failure to properly close or delete all restricted product listings from your inventory may result in the removal of your selling privileges."

To resolve this, according to the "My ASIN was removed" and "I reviewed the Restricted Products policy" sections, you'll need to either:

  • Contact Seller Support with your ASIN and request help closing a listing with a compliance rejection
  • Or appeal through Seller Support if you can provide the required certification, following all instructions in the original restriction notification

This explains why normal deletion methods aren't working - the compliance issue must be addressed first through the proper channels.

Best regards, Michael

Good Evening @Seller_Sram36TnVt73c,

I'd be happy to take a look at the cases you have been working on with Selling Partner Support on to see what next steps we can take to help you remove the ASIN you no longer want to sell.

Could you by chance share all the CASE IDs relevant to this situation that have been created over the course of the last 30 days?

I look forward to hearing back from you soon. Have great rest of your night.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
