Almost every return package you send through USPS will have its shipping billing adjusted. Some adjustments can make you furious!
I just noticed that I received a $93.29 shipping service billing adjustment for a 12oz 12x2x2in box. The audited dimensions and weight are exactly as I entered. However, the adjustment details indicate that the basic postage charge is $98.24 and the billing adjustment is $93.29.
It appears that USPS's APV adjustment system has a bug, and Amazon is not taking any action to address this issue. I recommend that everyone check their shipping billing adjustment details as you may facea similar situation in the future. If you encounter incorrect charges, you will need to contact APV to dispute them on your own.
Furthermore, Amazon, please take action to correct these apparently incorrect billing adjustments. You have a responsibility to protect your sellers, or we will eventually leave one by one.

Hello @Seller_1Raegj7Zw0G2C Thank you for sharing those details with us about that USPS adjustment.
I have seen a few forum threads about higher-than-normal adjustments for USPS return shipments, such as in the thread Shipping Adjustments Amounts Dont Make Sense.
Please note that updated carrier-audited information is not displayed in Seller Central for USPS returns, so adjustments that display matching info will often be based on non-matching carrier-audited info. However, I am asking our team to review those higher-price adjustments for possible errors. Can you please share a Case ID?

This is only moderately relevant but I just had one of these with our outside shipping provider (stamps) and opened a case directly with USPS. Same kind of situation as you described. I submitted all relevant product info and after about 2 months it was finally approved and refunded. I would guess that it is happening system wide with USPS. It will be a nightmare to try to get USPS and Amazon to work together to resolve especially on a case by case basis. I wish you luck!

USPS has to do that because they regularly lose packages. My claims list is a mile long, but we still manage to do a better job with shipping than FBA.

YES! we have been running in this issue all the time! so many adjustments from USPS and UPS! I have tried to dispute it directed to seller support to just give copy and paste answers.
We have many of these adjustment fees that are incorrect from the carrier that go back 7 months ago, roughly $200-$400 every 14 days we get charged.
Do we need an account number when contacting APV to dispute directly?
This is a serious issue that can bankrupt a small business, maybe the FTC should be notified

Can someone let me know where in seller central you are looking to see these adjustments? Thanks.

I wanted to provide everyone with an update on this case.
First of all, Amazon has fully refunded the incorrect adjustment of $93.29. Thanks to KJ_Amazon for their assistance. However, it seems that this forum is the only source of help for this issue, as the seller partner has not been able to provide any support.
Secondly, I received a response from USPS today stating that I need to provide a "Revenue Assurance ID (aka USPS Adjustment ID, not Label ID, Transaction #, Order #) *** - currently a 10-digit number with possible leading zeroes" in order to proceed with the case. Unfortunately, there is no information about this ID in my seller account, leading me to conclude that filing a claim with USPS APV doesn't work at all.
In conclusion, the only support available is through this forum. However, you will still need to build a case with the useless seller partner first.
