Hoping a MOD can explain why I have the option from NY to ship to 5 different FBA Centers from Midwest to CA but not even one on East Coast?
Just spent a few hours trying multiple options to avoid the inbound placement service charges and while I can separate 1,100+ units into 8 boxes to avoid the fees not even one of the Centers I was given is a 1 or 2 day ship. How is it I'm given the option to send to 5 different FBA Centers from my warehouse in NY to IN (2 different facilities), NV (2 different facilities) and CA (1 facility, 4 of 8 boxes) but not even have 1 nearby option in NY, PA, NJ or NC as usual?? Shouldn't at least one be on the East Coast? At least that way some of my brand new and not yet available in FBA items would possibly be available for In-Stock Head Start orders in 1-3 days. Sending to IN, NV and CA will take 3-5 days in transit alone, so if I'm lucky some of the new skus will be live in 7 days.
For the record all 5 locations are getting a hockey product that if anything sells better on the East Coast than anywhere else. As such it makes no sense for me to ship 380 units evenly spread over 5 boxes from Midwest to West Coast only so Amazon can redistribute it back to East Coast centers further delaying availability to Prime buyers.
Is this a recurring theme for other FBA sellers as well? It's one thing to have us split shipments up 5 ways, quite another to not at least spread them out somewhat evenly throughout the country. Why not 5 centers with one each in CA, TX, IN, NC or FL and PA or NY or NJ for example?
I have tried a few configurations for AWD, same result with everything going to CA. Certainly trying to work within the new rules and framework, but doesn't appear to be a rhyme or reason to selecting locations as far as I can tell no matter how I split units up. It's unlikely but perhaps there is a setting wrong that sets me for West Coast instead of East Coast that I am unaware of?
MODs Please see FBA shipments FBA17T3M44G4, FBA17T3NSW8V, FBA17T3F5VMQ, FBA17T3JB82Y and FBA17T3H32G1, 5 centers in IN, NV and CA as mentioned.
Thanks for looking into this and helping me figure out what changes, if any, can be applied going forward. Mike--SMCCI
