Branding/Logo Question

I'm not sure where to ask this ... and there's no shortage of this question coming up in the forums but I can't find any definitive answer. Hoping someone can share their experience.

Launching a new business and one of our sales channels is Amazon of course. The products are custom apparel (ie. t-shirts etc). They will be listed as "generic" for the brand however I would like to attach our logo to each piece that we produce. I plan to do this inside the collar .. so in the example of a shirt, the original tag (ie. Gildan) will remain as I understand that's a requirement under Canada's textile laws but underneath the tag on the collar I plan to impress my logo.

With that aside, my logo literally has the URL as part of it which points to my website. My website is also a Shopify storefront that sells direct. Obviously I'm concerned that this could be interpreted as trying to take Amazon customers and have them buy direct .. this isn't my intention at all but someone might be thinking that.

I do not want to put my Amazon account at risk ... so I'm asking if I'm headed into a world of issues. I'd rather change my logo and call the current experience an expensive mistake but only if I really have to? Looking to launch next week ...

Thanks!

Hello @Seller_1M8271AxMAnQl

Christine here from Amazon Forums.

Regarding your specific situation with the logo containing a URL, I want to clarify our stance. Amazon's primary concern is maintaining a fair and competitive marketplace within our ecosystem. We prohibit any attempts to divert customers away from Amazon or to provide them with direct contact information that could lead to off-platform sales.

That being said, we recognize that many brands incorporate their web addresses into their logos as part of their brand identity. This is especially common for established brands that sell across multiple channels. However, we do apply additional scrutiny to new sellers to ensure compliance with our policies and to protect our customers.

In your case, as a new seller launching custom apparel products, the inclusion of a URL in your logo – even if it's placed inside the collar – could be interpreted as an attempt to direct customers to your website. While this may not be your intention, it's our responsibility to prevent any potential circumvention of our platform.

Here are some recommendations:

For your Amazon listings, I strongly advise creating a modified version of your logo that does not include the URL. This approach ensures full compliance with our policies and eliminates any risk to your seller account.

If you feel strongly about using your full logo with the URL, I recommend submitting a case to Seller Support for review before listing your products. Provide a clear explanation of your branding strategy and request explicit approval. Be prepared to provide samples or detailed images of how the logo will appear on your products.

Keep in mind that even if approved, this decision could be subject to review in the future, especially if we receive any customer complaints or notice any unusual patterns in your sales or customer interactions.

Lastly, I want to emphasize that protecting your Amazon seller account should be a top priority, especially as you're launching your business. Any potential issues or suspensions could significantly impact your ability to sell on our platform.

If you have any further questions or need additional clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out to Seller Support.

Christine.
