Buyer "Did Not Arrive" Scam

I have received 29 A-to-Z Claims since Christmas, all for the same item, all following the same pattern. They ordered the item, it was delivered, they waited 3 days then they message saying something along the lines of 'where package, no arrive package'. Then they open an A-to-Z Claim. Amazon sides in their favor and they get a refund. Because we have delivery confirmation they do not count it against my ODR, but I still lose out. 29 times this has happened, 29 times I have appealed and lost. I submitted all 29 order numbers to Seller Support and they said that they can only look at 1 order per submission. I am trying to get them to look at all 29 orders to see that they fit the same pattern. Why can't I get anyone to look at the whole situation and not just the individual orders?

Hello @Seller_JUrCS7p4W0Wsb

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

When you ship on time using Amazon's Buy Shipping, there is no impact to your account health or Order defect rate for granted delivery related claims (as long as you respond to customer inquiries within 48 hours), although you may still be responsible for reimbursing the customer.

To respond to a claim for a delivery-related concern, you can provide the following information on the Claims page for the related order:

  • Dispatch method
  • Proof of delivery
  • Tracking number
  • Customer’s delivery address
  • Customer’s signature confirmation
  • Carrier details

This help page provides additional detail on Amazon's A-Z Guarantee Claims including scenarios where a claim could be automatically granted in favor of the buyer. If you need further assistance, please feel free to include the order ID that received a claim and I can take a look.

Regards,

Quincy_Amazon

Extremely prevalent here. Until something changes all we can do is increase prices to compensate for consumer fraud like this and returns. I just do not see it in other marketplaces and especially not self operated stores.

Amazon does not care. I have the same issue, yet I have ODR strikes for 9 of these. ODR strikes that have taken away my featured listing ability in the USA.

If there is a moderator reading this, this is a travesty. The rules dictate that A-Z cannot be opened without contacting the seller and giving them 48 hours to fix this.

This rule is not being followed, yet I lose my appeal every time.

Amazon is now a hostile adversary that is intentionally harming innocent sellers. These are the grounds for a class action lawsuit and for sanctions and fines on Amazon by the US commerce department for unfair business practices. I have paid over $200,000 in Amazon fees in the last year.

I am paying for what? To have products stolen? To have my listings demonetized and hidden?

Quincy Jackson, if you are reading this, as my B2C rep, you have ignored countless emails from me, you should be ashamed of yourself, I want your supervisor to contact me.

Amazon does NOT care about you. File for arbitration.

Or have your attorney send a letter to Amazon Corporate Legal demanding that they cease and desist the automatic granting of A to Z claims, they Amazon follow its written policy and refund all money wrongfully taken from your account, or arbitration will be filed.

Other that than no one on this (or any other) forum can help you including the "mods" who are here to keep you from escalating anything.

I have one question which might help but I have a feeling that I already know the answer. Was every single sale from a different account? In other words, I sometimes see a notification on a sale that this is a repeat buyer and can look at all of the prior transactions. If there are multiple transactions from the same account then maybe you should have Amazon look at the account to see if there is other activity that this buyer is doing to other sellers as well as you. But I suspect this scammer has multiple accounts. I also would not be surprised if this is some sort of organized group doing this. But that creates another issue. Can Amazon tell if the bank accounts or credit card transactions are the same? I cannot imagine setting up multiple bank accounts is easy unless the scammer is in a foreign country. Someone at Amazon has to start looking at this from a different perspective other than on an order basis This should be looked at by buyer account. If they are doing this to you, then they have to be doing this to other sellers too with those same accounts. Then if someone from Amazon starts digging then after seeing the account then they should look at the payment method. If the same credit card is attached to over thirty accounts then clearly there has to be fraud and Amazon should have had flags going off. They certainly have an automated system for flagging inventory. I cannot imagine that they do not have ways to discover fraudulent sales activity. .
