Requesting for the Immediate Reactivation of My Amazon Seller Account

Dear Amazon,

Can you help me, please...

I am writing to you regarding my Amazon seller account, which has been deactivated due to the lack of a VAT number.

I understand that Amazon requires a VAT number for sellers who meet certain thresholds. However, I have not yet made any sales on your platform or elsewhere, and thus have not exceeded the £90,000 threshold that would trigger the VAT registration requirement.

I kindly request that you review my account and consider reactivating it. I am committed to complying with all relevant tax regulations and will provide any necessary documentation upon your request.

In addition, No, one is not required to register for VAT in either the UK or Ireland if your taxable turnover hasn't reached the respective thresholds. The VAT threshold in the UK is £90,000, and in Ireland, it's €40,000 for services and €80,000 for goods.

Here's a breakdown:

UK:

If your taxable turnover for the past 12 months is below £90,000, you don't need to register for VAT.

You can voluntarily register for VAT if you prefer to do so.

Ireland:

If your taxable turnover for the past 12 months is below the relevant threshold (€40,000 for services or €80,000 for goods), you don't need to register for VAT.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Peter

You are not talking to Amazon on here - we are sellers just like you and the mods cannot reactivate your account.

You need to contact Amazon Seller Support directly using the help link above and creating a case.

First of all, this is not Amazon you're speaking to, but a forum of other sellers, like yourself, so no-one here can actually do anything, except try and advise.

Are you based in UK, ie. actually live in UK ? - or are you overseas, but store your goods in UK for FBA ?

If that is the case then the £90,000 threshold does not apply to non-UK residents, and you need to be VAT registered here in UK.
