Switch Prime on and off?
Random question! Is it possible to switch Prime off and on? Basically I would want to have Prime active from Monday-Friday, and then switch this off for the weekends. Is this possible or am I living in cloud cuckoo haha. At the moment I do not have Prime active, so wanted to know before I proceed with this.

Iv only ever done this on occasions where we haven't been able get the staff in on the Saturday (our weekend collection day) and as @oak_pine_Online states we turn it off around 2pm on a Friday then reactivate at around 3pm every Saturday. Not had any issues so far...

Although there is a switch to turn Prime off and on - you do get a warning about doing so. It should only be used for emergencies (such as an illness) and not regularly like for every weekend.
Whether Amazon actually actively monitor how often you use the switch is anyone's guess and only you can make the choice if its risky.
One alternative is to bulk upload to change the shipping template on your items. Switch them to your standard template friday afternoon and switch them back to the Prime template sometime Sunday. A bit more work than the switch but at least you are playing by the rules. Just keep the 2 files ready and upload.
The second alternative is to ditch SFP altogether and add a Premium shipping option to your standard template. You can lower your prices (as you do not have to include an element for the 'free' next day shipping) then your customers can choose whether to pay a small premium for next day shipping - and you are not bound to having to do weekend shipping.

During covid I have to do this to manage the number of orders coming in. All went well for a few weeks but after a while the delay between turning it on and the listings being 'Prime active' was very hit and miss up to 24 hours so I stopped doing it.

We have certain products that we sell via Prime during the week but at weekends we move them to another shipping category before returning them to the Prime shipping category on a Monday morning - this seems to work for us and there's never been any problem doing that.
