Can't advertise a new product because it doesn't have the Buybox

I did everything correctly to start selling on Amazon, personalized products added and started an Ad campaign

BUT

I could see that my Amazon Ads campaigns wasn't delivering the ads, and the support team told me that I can advertise only after winning the Buybox, which I just can have after achievement some requirements or selling at least one product (I guess). So, I'm on a crossroads here, because I need to sell but I can't through ads.

Do you have any guidance on that? I have a new product but I can't advertise it. Should I buy the first one? Does it enable the Buybox?

What does a new product need in order to enable adverstising?

First off DO NOT buy your own item or have someone buy it. Thats a slippery slope of "manipulation" and a code of conduct issue.

Otherwise you are correct, you need the BB for ads to deliver.

Things to concider, The seller needs to be BB eligible as well. New sellers have a "honeymoon" period where they are not BB eligible. The same is true for new items/listings. So you may just have to wait for a bit.

And about that "honeymoon" period, do you have any estimate of how long

~90 days, is the consensus.

So, I can't add traction to new listings, unless waiting them to be sold organically?

It seems that way. It is different for different sellers. Established brand owners and authorized reps can create new listings and run ads on them but for resellers/distributors or generic items, new listings/sellers need some time and organic metrics before being BB eligible.

Plenty of other things to do. SEO and BSR can always be worked on. Get your videos ready. Improve image quantity and quality. Do your title and bullet points have indexed keywords? How are your back end keywords? Can you partner with the brand to get A+ content working. Can you build up your ad campaign strategy? When starting out its good to let automatic campaigns run to capture search terms for 30 days then transfer that data into manual keyword ads.
