Utility Bill under spouse's name
My utility bill is under my wife's name. Would that cause problems activating my account?

Yes, it would. The name on the bill must match EXACTLY. Even down to the point that middle initial vs middle name can trigger a reject; as can things like "Street" vs "St."
You need to get one of the bills put into your name.

You will need to provide your wife's passport details as well as a marriage certificate with the utility bill

It will almost certainly be easier to change the utility billing name. Just contact their billing department.

Hello @Seller_tOum5U6YQcmp4,
Thank you for posting your concerns with a utility bill.

As mentioned by @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw, this will be required. We will need a valid utility bill that matches the information used to register the account. If the account is in your name, we will require the utility bill in your name that also matches the account details. You can see our requirements in the seller identity verification help page in seller central.
They also mentioned that any abbreviations or information that does not 100% match, may cause your documents to be rejected. Please ensure everything matches when providing your utility bill.
This will not be accepted in these situations. A marriage certificate will help verify an association to someone, but does not help verify the required identity information on a utility bill if it is in someone else's name.
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
Emet.

That directly contradicts Amazon's own help files, unless something changed the last 2 or 3 months.
(Well, I actually can't find it anymore, but what else is new in the help file zoo...)
