Product Inactive - can't find the sales application entry point
Hi,
We’re a registered brand owner specializing in dietary supplements. We recently started setting up our listings on Amazon, but as soon as we created our first product, the status turned inactive with this reason: Product requires approval to sell.”
The issue is we couldn’t find any option to actually request approval anywhere on the backend.
We opened a case and provided all the necessary info, including the proof of brand ownership, but the response we received was that Amazon has imposed sales restrictions on this category and asked us to submit an application in Seller Central, but we cannot find the entry point.
Case ID: 17912606421
We’d really appreciate it if you could help us figure out what’s going on or possibly escalate this. We're fully committed to compliance and just want to get our brand live the right way.
Thanks in advance for any help!

open a new case
Choose: "Products and Inventory" → "Product Gating" → “Request Approval to Sell”
Write a clear subject: “Manual Submission of Documents for Category Approval: Dietary Supplements”
Attach the following:
COA (Certificate of Analysis) from a lab for your product
Prduct images (label must show ingredients, warnings, manufacturer info)
FDA Registration, if available
Business license
Invoice (at least 10 units) from a legitimate supplier or manufacturer (dated within 180 days)

Another post about supplements -- shocking...
Unless you are in Brand Registry already you are not likely to stand much of a chance. Yours is one of dozens/hundreds of posts by rookies wanting to get in the game here.
The latest MOD response post appears to make clear that newcomers are NOT welcome at this time --
Additional response from Amazon MOD @cooper_amazon on this post from 6/4/2025 --

The pertinent part of the response --
“I wanted to stop by as @NEVERLAST shared above, there have been changes made to the Human Ingestible Products category.
To provide some insights to your question, if you were not already approved to sell in the supplements category, as part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience, Amazon has implemented additional restrictions foringestible supplement products.
Unfortunately, we are not accepting applications for supplements at this time. You are welcome to check back later to see if the category is accepting applications in the future.
If you list your product and believe it has been misclassified within a certain category or sub-category that requires approval, please contact Selling Partner Support with evidence, such as product pictures, to support this claim. Amazon will review your claim and make a final determination that will ensure the best shopping experience for our customers….”
