Amazon not accepting ISBNs purchased from Bowkers

I am having the same issue that many other sellers on here seem to have had - specifically I run a new Book Publishing company, and have purchased my ISBNs from bowkers.com (the only and official agency which assigns ISBNs in the United States).

However seller support keeps searching in the GS1 database for my ISBN to verify my ownership of the ISBN (to resolve the 8572 error I keep getting), when GS1 does not issue, manage, or keep a database of ISBNs... They manage UPCs, not ISBNs!! The ISBN database is managed by bowkers.com ! So of course they cannot find it!!

I just need to get my account approved as a new book publisher, and approved to use the ISBN prefix which I own. Please help!!

If it helps, I just need the exact same solution applied to my account as this other Amazon seller: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/seller-forums/discussions/t/f879f4cc67ddfb436f8f4c660ec41c91?postId=1ab990104ce83bb133ca2352a3249609

Thank you!

Hi @Seller_Jy4iQGyVBZooU,

I have reviewed Case ID 16671142221 and they need more information from you to get your ISBN's approved.

Please reply to the case and provide the following:

1. Images of the Book with Publisher Name and ISBN printed on it.

2. Publisher Name and ISBN can be either on the Cover or inside the book

Once you provide this information, our internal team can review to see if they can get your ISBN approved. If you still need help after you have provided the information above and they have completed their investigation, please reply back so I can investigate further.

Regards,

Michelle
