Target of Promise Extensions (ship padding)

MFN seller here and interested in others experience. Amazon finally added a view under inventory>Manage Seller Fulfilled Products>Fulfillment Insight dashboard (new), that shows a few things including how many days on average amazon is adding to your delivery promise or OTDR.

What do you guys show as your OTDR with extension vs. not, and what are the promise extension time in days (ex. 1.5 days).

Im wondering if there is a hard target?

Hard target? Like will Amazon penalize you if you are over a certain amount of days?

The recommend OTDR is 95% but there is not a penalty. However, Amazon will extend your delivery promise that you have set in shipping template if your actual delivery date is longer than what you have set.

For example, if you have that you will delivery to an area in 2-3 days but your promise extension date is 3 days, Amazon will show that you will deliver to that area in 5-8 days.

This can prevent you from winning buy box with longer delivery timeframes. Its best to set your delivery timeframe with what you expect to actual delivery products to area so a promise extension is not added.

To answer your question, these metrics are calculated based on your performance and while there is no hard target, you are encouraged to keep up with your best performance or with the expected date that you have set. As mentioned by @Seller_oobMPbhRqlUwf, having higher promise extension date might affect your buy box eligibility.
