What can I do? Bank account Verification - Thousands held for 8+ weeks with no explanation

What can I do?

The mystery of how Amazon "verify" a new UK business bank account for an existing seller.

The process started when I tried to "Manage Deposit Methods" to add a new bank account. I did upload supporting documentation for the new business account.

27 November 2023 - Amazon Payments did deposit £0.01 by giro into that same account.

By 22 January 2024 - Amazon cannot or will not pay into said account.

Disbursements have stopped since November.

***Several thousand pounds is now outstanding and held by Amazon.***

Amazon have given NO explanation or timescale for resolution.

Meanwhile our Amazon selling business is on the brink. How can anyone work like this?

What can we do to release these funds?

Amazon are just 'ghosting' us. They will not reply to requests for information.

If they had asked for new documentation, or a bank statement etc ? But nothing has been asked of us.

Please, please Amazon- listen and try to solve this.

We have been selling on Amazon for 10+ years. It is so very frustrating. Words can't describe (politely) the toll this is taking.

Maybe try the MD email - managingdirector@amazon.co.uk, or failing that mediation.

I wonder if these things are completed any quicker for those who have amazon loans?

I realise this is 5 days old but the way this forum is we tend to only see older posts unless we go looking for them.

If this still isn't sorted, have you tried another bank account?

If you don't have one try setting a new one up. There are a few you can open online fairly quickly. That's if you can update it.

I didn't have quite the same problem but I updated a bank account shortly after I'd moved and the address on the bank account didn't match the address Amazon had and it triggered something that ended up with them thinking I'd been hacked. I managed to revert to my old account and then update addresses. That only took a few days.

Identical. I have been waiting since end of November and all I receive is the same automated email, not from a 'person'. I have lost 30% of my income as it happened when I receive thousands of pounds over the Christmas period. They are also withholding £2600 from previous sales. I am at my wits end as nothing I do achieves any result, just 12 identical emails. I am 72 and this is making me so ill with worry. Everything about this is so wrong.
