Customers Retun items as not accurate description to avoid paying postage
Hi,
After some advice please. Like many other sellers the amount of returns we are getting this last month or 2 is insane. Currently were running at about 10%. This is hitting profits hard but we are facing a new problem of customers lying and making claims items are damaged or not accurate description to get a free return.
We used to have to refund their postage at refund stage which gave us a chance to fight it. Now im noticing Amazon are straight up charging us for a label and refunding the customer on first scan. so far every single return weve had in this case is completely accurate but we are screwed because amazon has already refunded our money back to them.
How do i get around this? Amazon will put us out business if they carry on

Two options.
If you remain on the amazon prepaid return label system - you can open a safe-t claim once the item is back with evidence the customer has used a false return reason code
Alternatively - you can contact seller support to opt out of the prepaid return label system. This takes you back to the old process where you need to approve all return requests manually, but you can control the refund process again.

Amazon, returns all the time...
Ebay, one this whole year so far...

This happens to us all the time.
We have to do safe-t claims every week which 90% refunds us the postage cost. Just take photos of the return when they come back, including the label and the contents of the parcel. Also screenshot their return with the return reason. You can add it all into the claim and state the customer has used an inaccurate return reason and please refund me 3.35 for the postage cost.
