Account verified, and yet pending verification

Hello,
Amazon requested a recent HMRC document, UTR letter, self-assessment letter, etc. For the purpose of payment verification, a few days ago. I uploaded a self-assessment letter and my account was verified within 24 hours.

However, today I received an email
’‘We are contacting you because you have incorrectly selected the Individual legal entity during the registration of your Amazon seller account.’'

I am a Soletrader from day one on Amazon, and nothing has changed. They asked me to select the correct legal entity, but there is nothing to select or change. When I followed the instruction in the email to ‘‘select the correct legal entity’’ it says you cannot change or edit your name or address.

I am really confused, to say the least. Your advice will be appreciated as always.
Thank you in advance.vero1_page-0001 vero1_page-0002

An individual means a person selling off their own unwanted or perused goods, like books they have read etc

As a sole trader you should have signed up as a business. You will need to contact SS and ask them to unlock the entity section so that you can select the correct entity

If you go to settings, account info and business information does it say your name with Sole Proprietor underneath?

Yeah thats an odd one, it seems that Amazon is confused (wouldn’t be the first time!)

The best option I can see would be to contact SS and inform them that there has been a mistake, that you are in fact registered as a sole proprietor and not an individual as the email states. But we know Amazon, it could take weeks and 20+ emails before someone even bothers to read it properly

On further investigation, on my {HMRC} VAT letter, it says business type ‘‘individual’’. I believe this is what Amazon has picked up. It was/has been in previous VAT latter, the ‘‘sole trade’’, as business type
Have been trying to telephone HMRC to change it back.
