Get quotes from local accountants.

When I started out with one staff member my accountant charged me £80 a month.

Get LinkMyBooks which links up accounting software; Quickbooks, Zero, Sage etc. It does everything for you with one click! Register with the direct VAT payment on your software, and it’s all done for you.

rather then price, look for accountands and finacial advisors who know what your business is about and how they can help you. also if your new, you will need alot of advice and support, so look for ones which offer you this.

you shouldn’t look for the cheapest or expensive, but the one that suits your needs, and provides you with the help/support you need, and is up to date on the tax regs so they can save you or advise you the best practices on legal tax reduction and management of your business, including growth.

if you learn to do bookkeeping and files the vat yourself it will save alot.

vat is a quarterly set of accounts, which your software will automatically do the calculation for you, if everything is entered correctly with the correct vat codes (this is where you need advice), once setup, it should be a rinse repeat thing to do.

As you are a new seller I presume at low turnover, you have no need for an accountant yet.
