Listing restrictions between individual and professional plan for new sellers

I understand that there are selling restrictions placed on brands, categories, and sub-categories. I'm trying to determine if, all else being equal (such as new accounts without a sales history), accounts on the professional plan have fewer restrictions than those on the individual plan. I reached out to seller support by email, but I received a canned response that didn't provide any helpful information.

I started on the individual plan and found that I couldn't list over 90% of ASINs (small brands), while other new sellers on the professional plan seemed to be able to list a lot more, or at least given opportunity to apply. Some brands are even auto ungated for new sellers on the professional plan. Most of the time, I would encounter the dreaded error message "Your account does not qualify" and wasn't given an opportunity to send an invoice. Does anyone know if things would improve for me as I transition to the professional plan? Or the same restrictions have been placed on both individual plan and professional plan as long as you are a new seller? Thanks!

Have you considered that the sellers on the Pro plan actually have done it right and actually have an LOA and have purchased through authorized wholesale distributors?

There are LOTS of holes in the Amazon supervision but, in theory, there is no difference for the requirements.

When people do sneak through it is generally only a matter of time before they get caught and removed from the site.

Hello @Seller_ciYqyxs21SEAh- and thanks for looking to the forums for some guidance on this!

To my knowledge, a professional plan does not provide any different restriction criteria vs an individual plan. You can compare both plans via this help page though!

Thanks,

Danny
