Should I be concerned - this is my livlihood at stake.
I checked my Amazon account this morning to find my account is facing deactivation!! the reason is that I had one negative feedback regarding some jam jars I sent to a customer (the customer states they were 200ml and not the 290ml stated in the listing) this is completely false as I only have 290ml jars in stock, most of my sales are FBA but this listing is a fulfilled by seller - so from 38 orders FBM I received one false complaint which takes me to 2.6% defect rate the target being 1% and now my account could be deactivated, so in theory if I had only sold one of these to this customer this would mean I would have 100% defect rate and my account would be closed down - and just like that I am unemployed.
Any suggesttions would be appriciated.

To be honest, it is highly unlikely that you would be deactivated for just one negative feedback, but they like to intimidate you !
I would contact the customer, explain that you do not even stock 200ml jars, see if they might remove the feedback, but if not then just leave a response to the fb.

It is a bad idea to keep all your eggs in one jar, especially if your livelihood depends on it. It would be best to have backups to control your destiny, your own website, eBay, etc. and not let Amazon control you.

Have you tried to request removal from Feedback Manager? Depending on how the feedback is formulated, it may be removed under the "The entire feedback comment is a product review" criteria. It may work or not, but it is worth giving a try.

I'm a very low volume seller and a single "crime" nearly always takes me over the defect rate. It's happened maybe half a dozen times over the years resulting in the "at risk" warning, but nothing worse. The system makes no allowances for low volume sellers when a single negative feedback in over 12 months can result in the threat of suspension.
I echo the comments of others, don't rely solely on Amazon for your income!

don't worry, I remember the first time my account health was affected it said "at risk of deactivation" I burst into tears. You'll get used to it. It just says that, you won't be deactivated over one thing. It has to be many and more serious.

As you will see the general theme here, do not put your entire livelyhood in Amazon's hands. At the very least, make sure your other marketplaces like Ebay or your own store, could cover your living expenses in the event something goes wrong on Amazon.

If it's your livelihood, I would say *never* do FBM ...FBA all the way, you're watertight.
Seller_K8edOfPu9HEmN
Totally do FBA and have absolutely no control whatsoever in your stock and what they do with it.
Thanks but no thanks.
