Amazon Swatches: Same swatch showing for both COLOR and STYLE variations

We recently ran into a new issue on our Amazon listings where the same swatch is showing for both COLOR and STYLE variations on several listings.

See example below of ASIN which has the incorrect swatch styling:

Has anyone ever experienced this issue before? What can you do to fix it? Amazon support tickets have been fruitless, the only suggestion they made was to delete the ASINS, wait 24hrs, then re-upload but I feel like that is their default response to everything.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue before? What can you do to fix it? Amazon support tickets have been fruitless, the only suggestion they made was to delete the ASINS, wait 24hrs, then re-upload but I feel like that is their default response to everything.

I see that you have reached out to Selling Partner Support regarding this issue. On CASE ID ending in 6871, the team shared the reason why the duplicate color seems to be appearing here: "Upon checking, we found the existing image has better Quality than the image you have submitted due to which the system is automatically selecting the images with the better resolution which is reflecting on the website. "

It seems possible to update the duplicate image as long as the newer image is a higher quality than the previously submitted images. Feel free to try and update it on your end to see if it appears and the duplicate color goes away. If there are any issues with the image override, please contact Selling Partner Support again and they can assist you. You may share the CASE ID filed with support on this thread so we can an eye on how the case is coming along.
