Chargeback issue
Chargeback that Amazon say I am responsible for.
The order was a SFP order, shipping label purchased through Amazon (Royal Mail Tracked 24). Item delivered the next day, picture and GPS cords etc
No return requests.
No communication from the buyer.
I thought I would be covered by Amazon against these chargebacks ?
This is the email from Amazon:
Hello,
As you know, a chargeback was received from the buyer credit card company with respect to the order ***********. At that time, we informed you of the chargeback and invited you to provide information that we could use to represent this chargeback.
Amazon has forwarded all the information and documents that you provided for this transaction. However, after reviewing the representment, the card issuer has closed the dispute on the customer's favor.
As the representment was unsuccessful, you are responsible for this chargeback. As per Amazon Business Solutions Agreement, Amazon will debit your account for 167.99 GBP.
The details of the order in question are the following:

A chargeback is different to a return. And can either go in your favour or against you - there is no "protection" from Amazon.
A chargeback is where a buyer disputes the transaction with their card company. E.g if a card has been lost/stolen and used without their consent.
It seems that whatever information/evidence you provided to Amazon to pass on to the buyer's card company was not accepted by the buyer's card company - it is they who have found against you not Amazon. Where chargebacks are concerned, Amazon simply act as the go-between, between seller and the card company.
You might want to read the chargebacks help page for more info.

update on this, I tried to submit a SAFE-T claim as this was a SFP order. Shipping bought through Amazon etc etc
Claim denied:
We have denied your reimbursement request for order ********
Why is this happening?
The reason behind this decision is that the order has a chargeback claim.
Per our policy, orders with chargeback claims are not eligible for a reimbursement via SAFE-T.

It is the first chargeback I have been held responsible for, Amazon have always covered me and this chargeback is no different to any of the others. ie SFP, shipping bought through Amazon, proof of delivery.
odd very odd
