Overpriced items in Featured Offers prevent listings at lower prices

I deal in recordings. I’ve encountered an issue that seems counter-intuitive to Amazon’s policies relating to giving the customer a fair price. There are many items listed with prices 3 to 10 times greater than recent sales, as indictated in sales data from eBay, Discogs and Popsike and which common sense tells me has a chance of selling at a much lower price to be competitive. The listing is sent to “inactive” and am told “This is a low pricing error. Consider updating your price using the provided reference price.” How does this best serve the potential customer?

I’ve listed a new copy of ASIN: B00Q7DBNL4 at $25.00. The featured offer for it is $ 199.00. Same for ASIN: B00400X7OM which I offer at $20.00 and am again faced with the $199.00 featured listing. I can site30-40 such examples presently in “inactive” purgatory. How is this benefiting a potential buyer?

Good Afternoon @Seller_ALAwkt1aDd8th,

I'd be happy to look into this situation for you. Did you by chance file a case first with Selling Partner Support on this issue?

If you did, please share the CASE ID so I can begin investigating. If you have not, please create a case with them and share with them as much detail on this issue as possible such as:

  • ASIN experiencing pricing error
  • Message you are receiving
  • Screenshots of the message
  • Any additional context that might help the Selling Partner Support representative

Feel free to post the CASE ID in this discussion once you have contacted support so we can follow the case along to the conclusion. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Hope you have a great rest of the week.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
