Dietary Supplement Multivitamin Products Inactive/Not Accepting Applications to Sell
Hello Sellers & Amazon,
I am creating the items that our brand will sell on Amazon, I just tried to create ASIN B0DX2NB7ZS. Five minutes after creation, the listing has been deactivated & I'm met with a "Requires Approval" message...
However, when I go to apply, I'm met with another message stating:
"We are not accepting applications to sell:
Other Health & Personal Care category in Used, Refurbished, Collectible condition(s)
Other product(s)"
Amazon Seller Support has been unhelpful thus far simply stating that they are not accepting applications to sell. Is this a wide-spread issue with multivitamins / supplements in general? Our most recent case ID we have opened in relation to this matter is Case ID: 17252711571
@Glenn_Amazon I've seen you help other sellers with this issue in the past, are you able to assist me with this request?

Yes, that's what Amazon tells actually to all new supplement sellers. Lucky you, you will save your money. Your product would appear on page 350 without reviews and ratings = no sales = high storage fees, high PPC fees and after one year high removal fees. Read here:

The vast majority of brand owners/products we represent and have sold/represented are in this space.
Don't believe the posters who tell you "not" to do this. It is a great category. And 40% of all supplements in the USA are purchased on Amazon. So if you are not on Amazon, you are going to struggle.
What you have described is not uncommon. It is something that can easily be gotten past, but it requires work. And your history on Amazon plays a big part in that. Amazon requires a lot of newly implemented and expensive testing and certifications as well.
What @Seller_rI7BZIczK8iACsaid is right and wrong.
- you will need to make sure your product is unique and has strong clinicals
- you will need to make sure you can pass the Eurofins/NSF testing/certification requirements (and this is $600-2500 per ASIN, annually)
- you will need to have a strong PPC budget as it may take 12+ months to become relevant in search
- you need to have a strong off platform strategy to help build awareness
- you MUST have a very strong A+ page
- you need to get 4 stars with at least 10 reviews ASAP
This is all VERY difficult for a singular brand owner with no experience. There are companies out there that help brands like yours. Yes, they cost money. Yes, they add more value than they cost.
This is not easy or cheap, but its the single largest market for supplements in the world! Again, to be clear 80% of all online supplements sales happen on Amazon, which is 40% of all sales across digital and in-person sales.
If you are not on Amazon you have a very small chance of succeeding in this space.

@Manny_Amazon Would you be able to review this as we have seen you assisted other sellers with this opportunity?

Hello @Seller_rGt3mUIHpvChK,
Thanks for sharing your case ID. At this time the category is restricted. I would recommend monitoring the Categories and products that require approval and Overview of categories pages to check if the requirements for your category changes in the future.
Regards,
- Manny

hey! firstly wishing you the best because i know how challenging it can be to communicate with seller support.
additionally it MIGHT be because you are trying to sell a product that isnt in a new condition in a category that must be? like are you allowed to sell dietary supps in used category?
