Buyer messages

Just had the experience as a buyer of trying to contact a seller (who may very well be reading this) about an issue with an order. The listing has incorrect details on it. Well, contradictory details - at the top - "3kg bag", further down a "1.1kg bag" - plus the image shown is not exactly what I received (wanted paper wrapping, came in plastic wrapping).

Anyway, just minor points but I clicked on "Problem with my Order" and it only allowed me to message the seller. Nothing about selecting a return or selecting a reason why. But when I go (as a buyer) to my messages, it says "Different from what I ordered: Request a replacement item" as the header to the message.

I NEVER requested a replacement or was asked for a reason why I was contacting them. This is misleading to the seller I messaged. I never brought up a solution or mentioned returning anything. I only pointed out that the listing had incorrect info on it and just left it to them to see what they come back with.

Is this the reason why we often get incorrect "return" reasons shown to us as sellers? Is this why the system is so screwed up and sellers are paying the price? What happened to being able to actually select reasons for getting in touch?

Too much of this is now so automated that it's no wonder customers expect free returns or replacements when they never asked for either in the first place. What a mess!
