How to stop OBA Royal Mail manifesting night before
Hi, my sorting office says that it can no longer accept my post because the manifests are all a day late. (The Royal Mail site manifests automatically about 6pm), however my sorting office closes at 10am, so I am taking the post in the morning - so what am I to do? What do other people do?

Usually delivery offices only close at 10am for the general public. You can still drop your post off, or we can anyway, ring them.
Get a collection (something you have to pay for if you’re under their threshold), ask if you can leave it at your nearest post office for them to collect when they go to collect.
I don’t know whether you can stop it manifesting since it is that days post. Guessing you’re getting the late manifest charge too…

I think your sorting office is being a bit jobsworth! Mine have never had any issue when this has happened. If my SO said this I would manifest just one item, then the rest then wont manifest automatically, I would put the manifest for the one item in the sack and hand them the one done in the morning.

We used to drop our mail around the back but about a year ago they stopped us doing it (Health and safety) Our post office wont accept it as its a small PO and haven’t got the storage
We now have to drop our mail off between 8-10 each morning which means an early start each day to get the post done and manifested and round there
I refuse to pay for the collection (I’m about £1000 below the limit)
Its a total Pain in the butt. why they can’t open for a few hours in the afternoon to help businesses out

Are people mistaking PO and SO here? I know some PO refuse to accept (ours do too, small and rural) but I’ve never heard of a SO not accepting a drop off? Our SO is also small compared to others, but as long as we drop off before the last arctic leaves, then all good. I’m surprised any SO would refuse a drop off?

We’ve had no issues at all with our sorting office accepting this, we’ve been in the same position before, our guy simply scans it, the device makes a noise and he hits a few other buttons, I’d say whoever you’re dealing with doesn’t know what they’re doing.
As others have noted, you can future date your postage, for us, if we are applying postage the day before, we simply use the option right at the bottom of the page as in …
