UK VAT for Non-UK Resident - Keep Asking for Additional Documentation

Hey Guys.

I am a Canadian resident selling in Amazon UK, Our disbursement have been on hold for 2 months now and providing numerous documents. And we have been asking for these questions. Someone, please help

"Thank you for providing your previous documents regarding the business establishment verification that is associated with your value-added tax (VAT). We require one or more additional documents to continue with your business establishment verification that is associated with your VAT.

What documents should I provide?

If you operate a limited company or partnership,

-- Provide documents that confirm the place of residence of every director or partner who is listed in the company registration extract.

• If not already used as proof of identity, a full UK photo driving licence card or valid national identity card bearing residential address

• UK or foreign bank credit card or bank statement

• UK mortgage statement dated within the last 12 months

• UK council tax bill for the current year

• A letter or bill from a utility company less than 6 months old. The letter that you receive must confirm that the seller is receiving a service from the company.

• A TV licence letter direct debit schedule. This should confirm the director's name, address, and existence of a TV licence

-- Provide evidence of any employees who reside in the country of your stated country of business establishment.

• A copy of the company or partnership payroll tax or social security registration provided by the country's tax authorities during registration

If you are sending any documents, note the following: Documentation must be in one of our supported languages. The supported languages are English, Chinese, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Polish. If the original document is not in a supported language, provide a copy of both the original document and the translated document. The translated document must be signed and sealed or stamped by a government-certified translator or notary public.

How do I send the required information?

Submit the required documents by emailing us from the primary email address of your selling account to: _______

Please note that once you provide all of the necessary documentation, our review of your documents may take up to 3 days. We will also inform you if any documents are missing. If our review is successful, your responsibility to remit value-added tax (VAT) directly on your Business to Customer (B2C) sales in the UK or EU will be restored.

I do not meet business establishment requirements. How can I inform Amazon and resolve my compliance position as soon as possible?

In this case, reply directly to this email and provide confirmation of the country from which you operate your company. There is no requirement to provide further documentation where this is confirmed as being non-EU or non-UK.

What will happen if I do not provide the required information?

Failure to provide these documents means that you will not be able to disburse using your selling on Amazon account."

Hi guys, This is my response. Please let me know if I need to submit if I need to submit anything additional. Its so frustating as our funds are on hold for 2 months

I am a Canadian Citizen and resident living in Canada operating my e-commerce business remotely in the UK with my UK Staff using a shared workspace in Preston, UK. We are fully VAT registered and submit UK VAT, UK Payroll Remittance (PAYE), and UK NEST Pension as a legal UK Company.

Documents Attached for the Sole Director

1. Anesh Pillai is the sole director of the company listed on the company registration extract. I am a Canadian resident and citizen. Please find my above passport copy and Canadian driver’s license (Attachment A1 - Canadian Passport and A2 - Canadian Driver License )

2. Bank Account - I have provided a copy of my local bank account in Canada ( Attached A3 - Sole Director Bank Account - Canadian)

3. Utility Bill - I have provided my recent Canadian Utility Bill of the sole director based in Canada (Attached A4 - Canadian Electricity Bill)

Employee Information

1. UK Passport for _______ residing in the UK to take care of the UK operations (Attached B1 for Staff UK Passport, Attached B2 - Staff UK Driver License)

2. Payroll Remittance Paid (Document Attached B3 - Nov PAYE Paid, )

Additional Document if required

1. HMRC VAT Paid - Dec 2023 (Attached C1)

2. Company house document (Attached C2)

3. Rent Invoice for Shared Workspace at Preston (Attached C3)

Please kindly release our funds ASAP. We are in a big strain as we haven’t received our disbursement for almost 2 months now. We will have to close our operations if we are not able to receive these funds in a week or so.
