I’ve bought new EAN & UPC numbers but they don’t work?
Hi,
I have bought a few 2019 Diary calanders from a shop for a fairly cheap price - it does come with an EAN however once I search it or scan it via the seller app it shows that there isn’t a product similar so I go and create a new listing then once I’ve entered all the information and click ‘save and finish’ it gives me a pop up of these BOOTS that are already up for sale with the EXACT EAN code which is annoying so instead I thought I’d buy brand new EAN & UPC codes which I have but once I paste them into the PRODUCT ID I get this error
‘ You are using UPCs, EANs, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN codes that do not match the products you are trying to list. If you believe you have reached this message in error, please contact Seller Support. ‘

If you didn’t buy the barcodes from GS1 then Amazon do not accept them.

I figured it out and it does work but with a twist and this is probably my fault for lack of research.
I bought the barcode from this site https://barcodelove.eu/
I got 5 UPC & 5 EAN sent straight to my email however after diging through the site I found out that their codes to not work for ‘Book’ category and that’s exactly what I need it for.
It’s a shame but a silly mistake from my part.

Maybe, maybe you are right. Buying barcodes from GS1 is way to expensive… anyways. I’ve figured it out and the EAN is working perfectly so far plus it doesn’t have any products on amazon under any of the barcodes I’ve received so I’m keeping my hopes high this carries on working.
