Validation farce - UTR letter requested but impossible to upload. FINAL PLEA!
Dear Sellers,
A farcical 2+ months have ended with my finally receiving a letter from HMRC confirming my UTR for Amazon's validation purposes. I go to forward this and then find it is not possible do so as the portal is now requesting passport validation instead! (I do not hold one). Amazon's response has been truly dire - unhelpful, impolite, disengaged, uninterested - you name it. I have tried umpteen appeals to rectify the situation to allow me to send the copy of my letter through the validation portal - STILL it asks me for passport details. If anyone out there has any ideas do please come forward as I am set to imminently give up and close my account for good after 6 years trading....such a waste on all sides. If they are needing to verify personal ID then do you have a driving licence ? they should accept that instead of a passport.

Having the same trouble, been months - uploaded the UTR letter three different times and now they seem to finally have accepted it, the message has changed to say :
We were unable to verify some of your business information. Please check your Performance Notification to provide the required document or information.

Proof of registration - registration extract? I'm a sole trader, I gave you the HMRC letters, my UTC, I don't get it - what do you want? What is the registration extract?
They provide no info, no help, and they've been taking monthly fees from me despite the fact I am unable to sell anything because I have no idea what it is they want from me.. it's crazy.

Upload the letter anyway regardless of what it asks for. I spent weeks trying to upload a Letter of Authorisation they asked for which I did in many different ways as it always got rejected. I read a post here on the forum of someone who had the same problem and I uploaded the UTR letter and they accepted it. Ir doesn't make sense but this is Amazon.
