2D Barcodes Vs A-Z claims
Hi,
What are the chances of a Parcel Sent with a 2D barcode and showing as delivered against an A-Z claim?
I’m just getting ready for the inevitable!
Cheers

Against an A-Z claim for INR, the chances are effectively nil.
For INR claims the initial part of the A-Z handling process is fully automated. If there is no tracking-with-signature recognised by Amazon, the bot will automatically find in favour of the buyer.
Your best bet is to try to head off an A-Z claim by showing the buyer evidence from the Royal Mail website that the item is showing as delivered. You might even be able to get from Royal Mail confirmation of the GPS location when the barcode was scanned at the time of delivery. However, without a signature it is easy for the buyer to claim they haven’t received the item, eg it might have been scanned by the postie and left “safe” or with a neighbour. And Amazon will tend to believe the buyer in such situations.

Even without having the signature confirmation, you can try responding to any INR claim with the order’s tracking information. It is possible that Amazon will deny it or close as Amazon Funded.
This is how I normally respond to INR A-Z claims with just tracking:
“Hello, the order was shipped on (date) with tracking number (xxxxxx) by carrier (carrier name). The shipment can be tracked on this link: (link to online tracking showing delivery). According to the order’s tracking information, the package was delivered to the correct address on (date). Please close this claim since the order was already delivered. Thank you.”

The last couple of A-Z claims I’ve had with 2d barcode tracking showing delivered have resulted in Amazon Funded Refunds and they haven’t been added to my A-Z Claim metrics.

2D barcode will show the order delivered when you register the claim with the courier. The customer address will be blacklisted.

We tend to try and eliminate issues, if you can, communicate with the customer, inform them as mentioned above that the item has been delivered as per the delivery confirmation on the Royal Mail website, reiterate the tracking number to them and state they can check this themselves.
We do get a few every now and then, 95% of the time the parcel has been delivered to the address, a neighbour or left unattended somewhere on the property, ask them to check these places first.
As for the A-Z, I’ve seen elsewhere that Amazon don’t take a lot of notice of the 2D Confirmation, but provide all the details you can and see what happens!

Hi,
We have had this about two weeks ago. Twice on one day. In the first instance it was delivered to the wrong block of flats and the customer tracked it down.
In the second case item showed as delivered on RM website. Customer opened A-Z. Customer won. We appealed many times including screenshots from RM website, matching information from package to bar code to address. Made no difference. Amazon eventually responded with;
We understand you may not agree with our decision, but the A-to-z Guarantee claim will remain unchanged.
Good luck. I think you have to get past the bots and iRobots, terminators/skynet, Robocop, Agent Smith etc in order to get anywhere.

On eBay, 2D Delivery Confirmation always shows in the buyers Purchase History (see attached pic). Once the box turns green (Delivered) no claim can be made by the customer and negative feedback is not permitted.
Pity something similar cannot be implemented on Amazon; one of the biggest online retailers in the world.
