Amazon, is it worth it anymore?
So i get a ‘No Longer Needed’ this morning thats two recently, the one last week which I asked the customer to return for a refund was refunded the next day by Amazon anyhow with me also not receiving anything back.
Just received a ‘my order was due the 9th December and is late’ - had two of these last week both times I asked if the customer could wait a few more days due to postal strikes, both went to Amazon the next day and got refunds and I got policy defects on my account…so…
The ‘item not received’ just now’ (I send everything first class) I got no choice but to give a straight refund as I cant risk anymore ‘policy defects’ on my account because Amazon will refund anyhow, another buyer who will end up with his item for nothing.
Just makes me wonder is it worth it anymore on Amazon ?
Seriously thinking of just sticking with Ebay.

Are you able to raise a Safe-T claim for a no longer needed claim?
I guess you will have to wait for the order to be returned before you can consider the above. Whether the order has been returned in accordance with the returns policy or whether you can reclaim your prepaid label costs which falls under the heading buyer responsibility.

I feel like I see these every week. Although I’m sorry to hear of your issues… if you genuinely question whether it’s worth it anymore then you’ve already made up your mind and likely nothing we say will help… It’s a subjective question.
It’s worth it for us and many other sellers… As I reply to every single one. We make a pretty penny and have expanded rapidly since Feb, in terms of sales. Like many others.
I feel like screaming when I read this and then A-Z granted… If it is late, you will lose the A-Z, guaranteed. You need to be increasing your handling times for these periods of stress on the postal system. Of course you’ll get a defect, it was in fact late!
By A-Z or, the new refund on first scan? If the latter, it’ll likely arrive at some point as the RM strikes are having their impact. If it never comes back or is damaged, I believe you can out a SAFE-T claim in.
Sounds like it’s more of a, is RM worth it anymore? Sounds like your issues are held with RM, look at another courier if margins allow, increase dispatch and delivery times.

You should appeal the A to Z explaining that it has been affected by the post strike. They should (based on their own policy) write back and say that you are still responsible financially but they have removed the defect.
In true Amazon style they are unable to apply the policy consistently. I recently appealed for 3 items that had exactly the same scenario. They did it on 2 but not the third.
Hopefully the remaining one will not cause me an issue as I simply don’t have the patience at the moment to be going backwards and forwards with seller support.

sellers are completely on the receiving end of buyers who want to rip them off unfortunately…it happens with me regularly - if buyer knows how to play the system, us sellers have no legs to stand on…even when you jump through hoops backwards for these “customers” … its really frustrating and Amazon give not two hoots about it either - in their eyes its all about the “buyer experience” at the expense of the sellers…ebay not much better im afraid.

It will always be worth it for some, not for others.
I have been selling on Amazon for 18 years, and each year has been busier than the last.
You have to be on top to know what the hoops are, and jump through them, whether or not you think they are always a good idea.
Keep to Amazon policies, maintain good account health and things are easier.

I feel its a push for Amazon for sellers to go FBA and away from FBM … that way they get more control over things and make more ££

Just to add…
The first ‘No Longer Needed’ was the Friday before last, Buyer ordered around lunch time, I shipped first class Friday afternoon…Friday evening I get the ‘no longer needed’ message (I’d already sent). .I replied to the buyer ’ no worries, I’ve already sent the Item, send it back and I will refund’ Sunday Amazon refunded and nothing has been returned…
Buyer got the item for nothing.

Amazon makes it clear - they only care about the customer, nothing else

I would also suggest sellers do not refund buyers who leave negative feedback without contacting the seller in the first instance. It means the buyer will damage the seller metrics and also get a refund for doing it.
Amazon is like the old eBay. Until eBay introduced blocking buyers from purchasing from you.
Why do you want to refund buyers who do not select problem with order on the order but write a negative review about a service is beyond your control.
