I have EU tax number + OSS, will I still have to get a German tax number?
My business has a tax number from my EU country, and I am registered Union-OSS. Will I still have to get a German tax number to sell FBA on Amazon DE?
Already added the tax number, but the prompt about German VAT number stays up.

You will need the VAT Number of the country, where you are registered on Amazon.
If you register on Amazon.de, Amazon will ask for the german VAT-Number (in german: USt-ID).
If you register in Amazon.es, Amazon will ask fot the spanish VAT Number....and so on.

When you choose Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), your products will be stored in an Amazon Warehouse, specifically in Germany in your case. When your goods are stored in a country other than your own, it is necessary to have a VAT ID for that specific country. Therefore, if you plan to use FBA in Germany, you will need a German tax number.

Hello @Seller_wKO5aDX5qocQU,
as the other sellers already mention, you might still need to provide a German VAT identification number to comply with the German tax obligations:
"provide a German VAT identification number in case inventory is stored in Germany or if you conduct Business-to-Consumer distance sales to German customers from inventory stored in another EU country and total distance sales within the EU exceed 10,000 EUR per year."
In the European VAT frequently asked questions it says:
"Can I upload a One Stop Shop number instead of a VAT ID?
This depends on how you have structured your business. When using our FBA solution and store inventory in multiple countries, you will likely require a VAT registration number in each country. For the EU distance sales, which are taxed in each country of your customer, you are able to request/register for the One Stop Shop VAT return in your EU Member State of residence to avoid additional VAT registrations due to distance sales."
If you are not sure if you have to provide a DE VAT number or not, please also check with your tax Advisor.
Best Regards,
Emma
