Advice Sought - Stay FBA or Switch FBM? That is the Question!
Hi Everyone,
Some of you may have seen my previous post(s) regarding stolen product. I am going to change my approach, in the hope of getting some constructive helpful advice.
Consider - Your inbound shipments suffer significant enough theft, whereby your PDP is constantly "Currently Unavailable", or only showing less than a days sales - "Left in Stock". Suffice to say, sales are tanking as a result with no support in sight. To stop this happening, the only alternative appears to be to switch to FBM. However, you have just recently discovered your product has been tagged as "Amazon's Choice | Overall Pick". If you switch to FBM, you lose this valuable endorsement and potentially a huge increase in sales ...
So the question is: What to do??? its a quandary for sure....!
Please chime in, I would greatly appreciate any and all advice...
Cheers,
AJ

A good choice may be to do both. This is allowed. You simply need to have two listings. One for FBA and another for FBM.
You can then see what works best for your situation.

I am FBM. So the question is how many orders per day, because if the volume is high, then the FBA shipping rates come into play. But if you do FBM, you control the inventory, you may need to hire help, and then that cost also, Workmans Comp, TRUST, and other minimal expenses. Having the inventory in your hands protects you should someone CLAIM INAUTHENTIC , You still have your merchandise , and AMAZON cannot CONFISCATE IT. And based on your Store name, Counterfeit claims are enormous Thats all I can say.

i wouldn't. amazon gives more traffic to fba.... i deep breath and assume the constantly lost products as extra taxes paid, some of them are reimbursed....

I switched to FBM 2 years ago because of the delay in getting items for sale and the poor manner in which Amazon handled returns. I now get my products active the same day. I get to see all returns, and when appropriate, I can reduce the refund by 50% in many cases, even if I have to file a claim. I have no lost inventory, and surprisingly, I'm sitting at 48% of my products having the buy box.

FBM basically means your business will be sabotaged at every angle and opportunity. If you have a unique product, go FBM, if you have a common product, you have to use FBA. I have products which are 30% cheaper than my FBA competitions listing, and I have a 95% seller score and a 4.7 product rating, and i can't even get a buy box. Wait for the kicker, my product is trademarked so no one else can list on my product, so I am the only seller and still do not have buy box. LOL
FBM is basically hell.

Just do both.
I do FBM only, and I also have several products tagged 'Amazon's Choice'. You don't need to do FBA to get that endorsement.
