self attestation letter

I am trying to get verified and start a business on Amazon. Now they are asking me for a self attestation letter. I have seen examples and I understand roughly what is required of me. But I need to provide a Business Registration number, I don't have one. I just got my business license a few days ago and I am a sole proprietor. What do you recommend I do?

Hello @Seller_l9yKrB1Hrw1Jr

Christine from Amazon Forums.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the self-attestation letter and business registration number requirements for Amazon Canada. We appreciate your enthusiasm to join our marketplace as a sole proprietor.

For Canadian sole proprietors, the process may differ slightly from other regions. Here are some options you can consider for your business registration number:

Business Number (BN) - If you've registered for a GST/HST account with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), you should have received a 9-digit Business Number. This can be used as your business registration number.

Provincial Business Registration - Depending on your province, you may have received a registration number when you obtained your business license. Check your license documentation for this number.

Social Insurance Number (SIN) - In some cases, sole proprietors in Canada may use their SIN. However, we recommend using this option only if the others are not available.

If you haven't yet obtained a Business Number from the CRA, we strongly recommend applying for one. It's a straightforward process that can be completed online through the CRA website.

For more detailed information specific to your situation, please contact Amazon Seller Support. They can provide personalized guidance based on your specific circumstances and location within Canada.

Hope you have a great day!

Christine
