Authorization letter vs authorized distributors

So If I buy from authorized distributors that means I don't need an authorization letter from the Brand?

For example, Puma states the following on their website: lease note we are only opening a select amount of new accounts at this time. We are not currently considering requests from distributors and other non-retailers.

Do not attempt to sell Puma on Amazon.

No distributor can grant authorization to sell a particular brand. Amazon cannot authorize you to sell a brand.

Only the brand owner can do this, and you need a letter of authorization.
