UPC no longer valid GS1

We buy a lot of closeout deals for products once a company either goes out of business or the company no longer holds a license. Since amazon is linked to GS1 via API they reject these items because the UPC is no longer valid. We own our own block of GS1 UPCs but do not want to use those since we want to keep the brand name of the product intact which we can't do with our own UPCs. Has anyone figured out a way to sell older products where the UPC is no longer valid on GS1 because the manufacturer no longer exists?

Hi there @Seller_niVmDINS0v2Uv,

I'm sorry for the difficulties you are having with the Valid UPC policy. The primary reason for this is to ensure that the products being provided are authentic and that the Brand being provided is valid. You can review the Product ID (GTIN) requirements by category which indicates where exemptionscan be provided for private label brands. Please note that if your products are not eligible for an exemption it won't be possible to list them without a valid UPC that ties to the correct brand. Thank you for your understanding.
