Do you have to reapply to sell a Brand after approval?
When selling on Amazon, once approved to sell a particular brand product via application, do you have to reapply again after a few years? Just asking for clarification because some of our inventory was marked inactive unexpectedly and we need to reapply to sell a brand that we have been selling and was already approved by Amazon. We asked various support team members and internal investigation with no clear indication as to why this happened. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes that's possible. Why this happened? Amazon daily takes new decisions without to explain us why. We can just accept it.

Hi @Seller_GzUqubPe9fHlx,
I understand how frustrating it is when previously approved products suddenly need reapproval. Looking at the help documentation Categories and products that require approval, this situation is actually quite common.
Under the section "I was already selling this product, but now I can't. Why?", Amazon explains: "As our catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations for which products should be restricted based on a number of factors. Even if you were selling your product before, you may be subject to new restrictions."
This typically happens for one of two reasons:
- New restrictions have been placed on existing products requiring approval
- There might be performance-related notifications requiring additional information
I see you've already worked with support and had internal investigations without getting clear answers. What you could try next is checking your Performance Notifications and Account Health pages one more time for any specific issues that might explain the restriction.
If you don't find anything there, you can submit a new application through the Selling Applications dashboard. The help page mentions you can specifically search for brand applications there.
Just keep in mind that the help documentation notes "in some instances, we may not accept applications for review," but since you were previously approved, it's definitely worth trying to reapply.
Hope this helps explain what's happening!
Best regards, Michael

yep. if the brand becomes registered and decides they want to take over the business for themselves, they can and will kick you off.

Yes , I was recently ungated to a few products that i have been selling. And the this is , If you reapply you need at least 300 of the product to show in your invoice. This is crazy! It so unfair that we already got approved and you have to show so many inventories. I dont keep that big inventories for a certain product. Bec I only get a few at the store and most of the time they only have few of them in stock.

I was approved one week for a brand with 10 units, $500 worth of product. Started to prepare a shipment the next week and was told that I have to apply again for 100 units. Now what are we supposed to do with all this useless, expensive inventory? I've only been at this for a month and am very frustrated.
I have product currently in route and I received a letter from the brand stating that they do not allow 3rd party sellers to sell on Amazon. Would have been great to know that before. Now I have to try to get it shipped back to me, and then I don't know what I will do with it all.

Amazon (bots) will let anyone sell whether you have a LOA from the brand or not.
And then BAM!, they change their mind because they don't do their homework before telling sellers the entire truth before allowing them to sell a brand.
It's unfortunate that "bots" or "AI" has control and there doesn't seem to be any "real" humans to monitor the platform.

This is very good information, thank you for sharing with other sellers. This could happen to anyone at anytime. Though costly to you, and I do feel bad for that, you may have just helped many others.

Hi @Seller_GzUqubPe9fHlx
Thank you for posting to the Forums. I'm glad many sellers here were able to offer you advise and suggestions.
To clarify, Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. While you may have been approved in the past, as the Amazon catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction.
For this reason, you may be required to gain approval to sell certain products. You can see if there's an option to apply to sell through Seller Central, going to Catalog>Add a Product. Next, find the ASIN you would like to sell and then apply to sell if there is an option.
You will find more details about this using the resources below:
If you have further questions, please let me know.
Best,
Sandy
