Amazon is holding my funds in reserve and will not give me a reason!

Amazon has been holding my funds in reserve for over a week. My account health is in great condition. I have no current chargebacks or claims. I've called 6 times and finally got a phone call back from a "team lead" who told me to wait until the 5th and if I can't pay myself to call back again and they would fix it so that I could. Her reason that I could not pay myself was because I had 5 return requests in the last 30 days on 5 different items for various return reasons. I stated I had receive no emails from Amazon stating this nor is there anything negative on my account health and that did not make any sense. Over the last 25 years of selling on Amazon, I've had more than 5 return requests in a 30 day period but my funds have never been held. I find it hard to believe that this is the real reason they are holding my funds. Especially since the retuen requests have already been refunded and they were all less than $20 each. If Amazon feels the need to hold my funds I should at least get an explanation as to why so that if I'm doing something wrong I can correct it. Has anyone else had this experience? Any advise? Is there anyone from Amazon on here who can help me?

"Over the last 25 years of selling on Amazon, I've had more than 5 return requests in a 30 day period but my funds have never been held. "

If you've been around that long you know that Amazon changes their rules and policies more often than most people change their underwear.

You might have noticed the MASSIVE influx of new sellers from various offshore locations. THAT seems to have triggered Amazon into being much more proactive in protecting AMAZON and their assets.

" Has anyone else had this experience?"

Scan the Forum for all the 'funds being held' posts and you will find LOTS of them -- generally several every single day. Some have their funds held fo 90 days and more so that any possibly refunds and A-Z and charge back claims are out of the picture.

"If Amazon feels the need to hold my funds I should at least get an explanation as to why so that if I'm doing something wrong I can correct it."

It's Amazon and any 'explanation' they give you will be couched in legalese and gibberish that is meaningless anyway. And, NO, they run the show and are very unlikely to give you any useful information. The number of refunds/returns PROBABLY triggered some well hidden metric. If they gave you a straight answer it would give out valuable (to Amazon) information on how the system is designed allowing every scammer on the site a way to avoid detection.
