method to waive the FBA placement service fee , A bug maybe?

Hello everyone, I came across some information about waiving the FBA placement service fee, and I wanted to share this with you. By following these steps, you may be able to avoid this fee.

First, go to the "Fulfilled by Amazon" section in your settings. Then, navigate to the "Inbound Settings" and select the option that says "Amazon-optimized shipment splits: You send inventory to multiple locations."

The crucial part is finding an ERP system that still uses the old FBA Inbound Shipment API. With this system, you can choose and locked your preferred fulfillment center and even delete any alternative shipment plans without any FBA Placement Service fee.

Please note that this is just a suggestion, and I recommend conducting thorough research, I wasn't sure if Amazon did forgot to implement that policy to the old FBA Inbound Shipment system. But according to other's screenshots they share, it actually work. just sharing and use it at your risk.

i'm not familiar with what an ERP sysem is. Enterprise software, is that right? I've never used that before and our small candle business is considering terminating FBA over these fees and just do FBM. It's crazy

I have already done this.

Amazon makes the option for "Optimized Shipment Splits" unavailable 80% of the time. You have to play around with how many units you are sending.

I would say if Amazon allow Large-Bulky units to be shipped to their warehouse using AWD would be great and optimize their Fulfillment process and more competitive to other 3PLs.

I would NOT do this, because Amazon will catch up and Retroactively Bill you for all those FEES.

Just build 4+ identical shipments and send them where Amazon wants them. This will SAVE you major processing time. Using a single FC is "convenient" but in fact it take around 30 days on average to spread your products around the country so they can go LIVE.

Furthermore, these receiving FC are so backed up that we have boxes "trapped" in California and Nevada that haven't moved in nearly a YEAR. That is a horrible situation, because we also cannot get Reimbursed for these while Amazon takes forever to process them, they just in Reserved forever!

Hi @Seller_AurHofKpB2FYL,

Dominic from Amazon here. Sellers inbounding to Amazon will be charged a fee in accordance with the inbound placement service fee. Avoiding these fees by deleting or abandoning shipments or using 3rd party tools that do so is not possible.
