I have not had any sales for 2 weeks. Did Amazon close down the Handmade Section? Or is it just a slow time
Did Amazon close down the Handmade Section? Or is it just a slow time of the year. I don't understand what is going on with the sales. Is anyone else experience what I am experiencing and if so are you doing anything about it?

what I’ve gathered from the past few months is that to compete anymore you must pay top dollar for ads. They also removed “relevancy” in the search and now it automatically sorts by “featured”. When I type something in the search now I’m constantly bombarded with stuff that doesn’t even remotely relate. But those items get picked because they paid for an ad even though it’s not even the same type of product as what I’m looking for.

I was going through my stats and noticed that my page views/sessions are about 1/3 of what they were the same time last year. As many have stated in other threads, there are no eyes seeing the Handmade listings. Again, it seems to have started around June or July 2023. But if you ask Amazon, they did nothing.

It is my opinion that Amazon is 'quiet quitting' Handmade. Handmade is not trendy anymore, and Amazon just don't want to throw any more money at it. They didn't even have a contest to give away gift cards to sellers this year for Handmade's Birthday. The budget clearly has dried up.
They don't promote it at all on their social media channels. Handmade's Instagram has 600,000 followers, and the last post was like 6 months ago, Handmade's Instagram has over a million followers, and hasn't posted since January. They don't update Handmade's splash page very often, they don't promote Handmade for Prime Day.

I posted this thread several months ago documenting many concerns, and in the replies, Mod's did say they were going to make a statement about my concerns, but that never happened despite me tagging mods several times over the past few months.
What am I doing about it? Well I'm not sure about sending in any more inventory to FBA. I have 300+ units in FBA and if handmade shuts down, and if I need to recall all my inventory that would be like $300+. I'm not optimistic at all about Amazon transitioning handmade sellers into regular sellers on the marketside.
Always remember to not have all your eggs in one basket. Etsy while it has a terrible reputation, at least has stability. Michael's Makerplace seems to be a new up and coming Marketplace, time will tell how big it gets. It seems slow but it's in their best interest to get people buying craft supplies.

I make holiday ornaments and my sales have tanked. Totally dropped. I'm down 91% from the last 3 years. I would say Handmade is out on Amazon right now. Super sad about this.

We've had our busiest October ever with handmade. October is generally our slowest month of the year for our business but we did fairly well considering that.

My shop is really slow too. I wish they promoted the handmade section more. I never see any type of advertising or driving sales to the handmade section
