Search Suppressed - 'ASIN Managed by Brand representative or Owner

Hi,

We purchased a particular big-name brand product from a reputable wholesaler. At the time we bought it, the listing was Active on Amazon and there was no issues when I added it in inventory listings. The day we received the product and attempted to list it, we noticed the status on the inventory listing page had changed to ‘search suppressed.’

When we reached out to Amazon, here’s the response we got:

Thank you for your email.

We investigated the ASIN and compiled the information in the catalogue. As the ASIN is managed by the brand, the brand representative or owner will now need to update the unit_count attribute for the UK to “1” “count” via a Feed file partial update and get back to us with the Batch ID: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/listing/upload

We can see that you are not a representative of the brand. Please engage your brand contact to ask them to update the catalog as you are unable to correct it and cannot sell this item at this time.

It’s really frustrating as we have a lot of the product in stock and wish Amazon had informed us of this/ stopped us from being able to list this brand before we purchased it.

My question is, has anyone been in this situation before?

Also, how do I go about getting the brand representative or owner to update the count on AMAZON.

This is a very big brand, and they have many other sellers selling on other ASINS.

I will appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

Can’t advise re. your issue, but just to say, there is no way Amazon could possibly do with this with the millions of product lines that are listed.

The best way to resolve this is to apply for a seller qualification application for the brand. This will allow you to list new ASINs for the brand and to enter missing information to lift suppression.

If it is a really big brand such as Disney this is the best way to resolve it. Sometimes they will only give permission for 96 hours to list ASINs or enter missing information.

If it is a smaller brand you can try contacting them via their website and they may update the information for you.
