Have FBM fees increased for Individual Plan sellers in the Media category?
I am an individual plan (not a professional plan) seller and am exclusively FBM. Today I sold a book for $ 18.00 with standard shipping. I was a surprised to see that the Amazon fee for this transaction was $ 6.69, I've been selling FBM on Amazon for about 17 years and, heretofore, the fee for an $ 18.00 book (with standard shipping) has always been $ 6.09. I don't recall hearing about any fee changes for FBM (as opposed to FBA) sellers. Has any other individual plan FBM seller recently noticed higher Amazon fees for the same priced items in the same category and with the same shipping level?
(Moderators: Just FYI, the Order ID. for today's sale is # 114-6213284-5306634. Please compare this sale to a sale I made in April, 2024: Order ID: # 111-9529146-8197811. Each order was in the books category with a sales price of $ 18.00 and standard shipping. The Amazon charge for today's sale was $ 6.69; the Amazon charge for the earlier sale was $ 6.09.)

Here's another example. I sold a book today for $ 28.00, with standard shipping ($ 3.99). Order number was: 114-5460159-0775452, The Amazon commission fee for this order was 8.34. The last time I sold a book for exactly $ 28.00, with standard shipping ($ 3.99) was in October, 2021. The Amazon commission for that prior order was $ 7.59. So the commission has gone up by $ 0.75 or close to an extra 3% of the sales price. I do not recall ever seeing a notice from Amazon that it was increasing its commission fees for FBM sellers in the Books/Media category. Can someone please shed some light on this? Thank you.

Those are not live links.
You might have better luck getting a mod's attention if the tags look like this:

Hello @Seller_YwfR7hfAsgFmC Thank you for checking in about your recent orders/proceeds.
If you click on the linked Total amount, you will see the Transaction Details with all charges/fees/taxes.
For that order, the difference in "Fees" is due to additional tax paid on Amazon fees compared to the earlier order, 10% on the $6 in fees.
You can read more about those fees on this help page: Tax on U.S. seller fees FAQ

At the same time if you up your selling price at same rate as Amazon you will get either Buy Box removed stopping all sales or High Pricing Error so it is clear Amazon is pricing you off of this platform slowly bleeding us out.
