packing fragile items - but speedy

Hi all, we have been shipping cosmetics in glass jars inside a box for a number of years with Amazon FBA. Currently we put all items in a bubblebag first with an fnsku barcode on the outside. This is very time consuming and expensive and we are struggling to keep up with the growing sales on Amazon with this particular packing method.

We would be worried about sending the items as they are without bubblewrap as Amazon doesn't often put a lot of protective packaging in the box - or is this just us being worried? Does anyone send anything similar and find they are fine to send without additional protection?

Eager to keep the costs down as the sales grow where we can!

Firstly congratulations, of all the problems a business can have on Amazon struggling to keep up with demand is the best problem to have.

The way you describe it gives visions of your entire family bagging, boxing and labelling items for hours before dinner each evening.

Having had a look at your stores your products are not overly expensive but do have a premium feel so sending them out without a box irrespective of whether they'll survive Amazon handling may be negative to your branding. I'm not sure they need a bubble bag as well if the box fits the product perfectly and is of good enough quality to offer some protection.

You're struggling to cope with packaging now, with further growth that can only get worse so why not have the products delivered to you (or straight to FBA) Amazon ready, boxed and with your barcode pre-printed on the box?

You don't mention filling them yourselves so presumably you have someone fill and label them, why not go a step further and have them box the product too? You'll need to order custom boxes from a box maker and a graphic designer can design the boxes easily and they cost less than you might think as a one off cost. Yes there is a cost involved but add up your bag, box, label and own labour that you are doing now and it may be the same or less long term.
